Hunting!

We went hunting this weekend! Opening Day for pheasant season. We had a nice time, the weather was perfect. The ground was pretty wet, which was hard, but we enjoyed ourselves all the same. Lazslow did well. He didn't find any birds, but he found three or four piles of feathers. We saw three birds, one on a path, and two coming out of the bushes. We had to point them out to Lazslow, then when we did, he chased, they were off the ground and Pat shot. We didn't get any, but it was our first day! Next time we will, I'm sure. I have two new blisters on my heels to prove it was a good day. Needless to say we slept well that night (and I slept for 2 hrs when we got home!).

We're hoping to go again this weekend. This Friday night is Couples Autumn Fest for Mosaic, and Saturday, we're going to hear Dr. Ron Sider speaking on evangelicals, poverty and politics at Mosaic. But that's not until 1 pm - plenty of time to get a hunting trip under our belt! It sure is fun being out there with an excited husband and excited dog!

That doesn't sound like much fun, but you make it seem enjoyable as something to do together. And if you want to do it now without getting a babysitter or hauling a baby, this is the time.
