Hi family!
Damon, Jenny, Roman and I just got back (in Damon's new rig.... Damon, you'll have to post the story and photo) from Riggins after a day of BIG WATER on the Salmon River. It was hot and dry, and the water was HIGH. Damon and Roman traded off on the oars. We met up with the Time Zone college/post-college group on Friday night just in time for Bible study. Since we left later than we thought, we missed dinner.... so Kelly Black cooked us a private spaghetti dinner on the camp stove. :-)
Laura, Bobbie came over and asked about you this morning. She said that one of the girls on the trip reminds her of you, and she kept doing double-takes at Bible study last night. She said she missed you.
Jenny, Julia, Roman and Anna Marie asked about you too, and I don't remember who else.
It was kind of bittersweet to sing camp songs on the sandbar under the big trees and realize that it's probably the last time we would be at raft camp with the Trenckmanns. I have a feeling that the Lord might have some river front property saved for them in heaven, though, so we'll have to visit them then. I'm sure they're all Class IV or V...maybe more....since you can't die!
What is everyone doing on the Fourth?

Nice weekend for you guys.
On the Fourth, UT and I will be traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin by way of Atlanta, GA. We are using our NWA frequent flyer miles to get to Montreal and will stop at the convention of the Am. Assoc. of Teachers of Fr. until Saturday. So, for the holiday we will be sitting in a plane or in an airport. Your dad is picking us up at 6:00 a.m. Be glad we didn't ask you, huh?
Rig! Kay Lynn, that is such a Trenckmann word!
KK, we were on a trip for the weekend (see details earlier in the blog ...) but came back last night; after hanging out at Andy's for the morning & afternoon.
Our night last night was pretty insane with 50+ neighbors lining the street in front of our house to watch the fireworks. It was pretty chaotic - Pat and I were wondering how long this could go on with no injuries. Three times there were open flames across the street; I think they were from those worm firecracker things. The thing that was the most amazing was the behavior of the parents! Needless to say, our yard (front & back) is a mess. There was actually a beer bottle on the sidewalk under our tree this morning!
Even considering all the mess, the fireworks WERE pretty good - Who needs the Fort Vancouver fireworks with a show like this? I'm okay letting our neighbors spend $50 a pop on multiple huge items, and put on a free show!
Molly & Andy --- regarding the fireworks, do you remember how crazy Mike and Blanche Anderson were about fireworks? Especially Mike. He spent lots of money every year. One year they lived in an apartment, so shot them all in our Morton Drive driveway. There were black marks on the concrete for years afterwards. Maybe still there. . . . who knows?
We are off to enjoy the city.
